Okrika/Ogu-Bolo Fed. Constituency 2019: Bolo People Insist On Maureen Tamuno

As the moves are being made as to who clinches what position in the forthcoming 2019 general elections, Bolo Kingdom, a component of the Wakirike Ethnic Nationality of Rivers State has thrown her weight behind one of her daughters, Dame Maureen Tamuno.

This position was made public at a well attended meeting in Bolo, Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area, where Tamuno, a former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, made her intention to run for the Okrika/Ogu-Bolo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives come 2019 known to stakeholders, party chieftains and supporters.

A frontline politician and traditional ruler in the area, Chief Ely Afiesoka said it was time for the entire community to rally round their daughter as to bring glory to Bolo, Wakirike and Rivers State.

He said Dame Maureen Tamuno, by her standing qualities in representation and developmental strides, cannot fail any election but for the undemocratic activities of 2015, which he said were all over due to the strong stance of President Muhammadu Buhari against election malpractices.

Chief Afiesoka further thanked the leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi for his strong belief in equity, fairness and justice to all Rivers people.

The erudite political amazon, Dame Maureen Tamuno, who was also a former Executive Chairman of Ogu-Bolo LGA,  had told the august gathering that “charity begins at home, thus it is very essential we start it at home to the larger society”.

According to her, “if my people whom I served diligently have accepted me, then we are good to go”.

Other stakeholders, who spoke at the event expressed strong belief in the victory of Dame Maureen Tamuno at the polls come 2019 as they vouched their maximum support for her to represent the area in the House of Representatives.
