NPA Incentivizing Patronage of Eastern Ports, Seeks Synergy with Media

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says it was emplacing incentives aimed at full utilization of the Eastern Ports, as well as seeking optimized synergy with the Media to achieve set objectives.

The Port Manager of the NPA Rivers Port Complex, Adamu Michael said this when a delegation of the Energy and Maritime Reporters Corps (EMR) led its Chairman, Martins Giadom paid him a courtesy visit on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Michael informed that the recent waivers issued by the NPA were aimed at attracting importers to patronize the Eastern Ports, expressing the hope that full utilization of the Calabar, Delta, Onne, and Rivers Ports would take place soon.  

On the need for an effective relationship between the Media and the NPA, the Rivers Port Manager stated that the Media is part of the Port system, emphasizing that NPA will continue to collaborate with the Media for improved results.

Earlier, the Energy and Maritime Reporters Corps (EMR) Chairman, Martins Giadom had congratulated the Port Manager on his recent appointment and assumption of duty in Port Harcourt.

He described EMR as a professional beat which members are Reporters who concentrate on the Energy and Maritime sectors of the economy, pointing out that the EMR plays vital roles in the operations of the Ports, the IOCs, key federal agencies, host communities and other major stakeholders in the subsector.
