New BIRC Leadership Reads Riot Act to Companies, Warns Youths Against Disruptive Tendencies
The newly inaugurated management of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC) has warned companies operating in Bonny Local Government Area against undermining extant employment procedures in the area.
Chairman of the BIRC, Adawari Jumbo, accompanied by his counterpart in the Bonny Kingdom Employment Monitoring Committee, Michael Pepple, and members of their respective committees, issued this warning on Tuesday, 07 April 2026 in Bonny, Rivers State.

He asserted that not only would his committee reverse any employment done outside the approved protocols, it would also revert such to indigenes and residents of the LGA.
“The BIRC, under my watch, under my leadership, will not tolerate erring companies. Let it be clear as a message, as a warning, to all the companies operating in the Bonny Kingdom, that we will go out and begin to look for companies that undermine the BIRC.”
“…that carry out their employment without passing through the BIRC, not balancing employment chances, bringing people to Bonny to occupy chances that Bonny people and people living in Bonny LGA can do. We will withdraw them and give them to our people.”
He also discountenanced youths from engaging in disruptive activities in various project sites in Bonny, admonishing them to channel their grievances to the BIRC and other appropriate channels instead of picketing companies’ premises.
“We will ensure that under our leadership, youths are not allowed to go into any company premises to agitate without channelling their complaints to appropriate quarters.”
“The Agaja site for now has been declared as a pipeline, an industrial site currently in operation. We will ask everybody to stay clear.”
“If you have issues, please bring it to the BIRC. There is hope in the BIRC. You don’t have to lose hope and begin to go to site. If you have any issues or reason to go to sites, please call on us. Call on our emergency number. Our number is 080-3932-7344.”
“We don’t have any reason to lack hope or lose hope in the BIRC. God bless you. Out and begin to look for companies that have hope.”
The Adawari Jumbo led Management Team of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre and the Michael Pepple led Bonny Kingdom Employment Monitoring Committee were inaugurated by the Chairman of Bonny LGA, Abinye Pepple, on Friday, April 3 2026.
