In observation of the International Women’s Day 2025, Chairman and Managing Director of Evomec Global Services Limited (EGSL), High Chief Peter Esievo has reaffirmed his dedication to promoting gender equity within his organization and the broader society.
Echoing this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” High Chief Esievo emphasized the critical need to intensify efforts towards empowering women and ensuring their active participation in all facets of society.

Reflecting on the invaluable contributions of women, the Evomec CEO noted that women play an important role in driving societal development, reiterating the importance of respecting and empowering women to foster a more progressive society.
He noted that women’s involvement in decision making processes, policy formulation and implementation and driving initiatives leads to impactful leadership and positive societal influence.
According to High Chief Esievo, under his leadership, EGSL has actively promoted gender diversity across its operations.
The company has provided numerous women with opportunities to gain experience in engineering, construction, procurement, and administration, thereby challenging traditional gender roles in a predominantly male-dominated industry.

Demonstrating a commitment to community development, Chief Esievo has also been instrumental in initiatives aimed at empowering women through skill acquisition.
In collaboration with military authorities, EGSL embarked on a project to construct a skill acquisition center, designed to positively impact the lives of the barracks community in Bonny LGA by providing training and resources for self-reliance.
Chief Esievo called upon other industry leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders to collaborate in creating an environment where women can fully realize their potential.
He emphasized that accelerating action towards gender equity requires a unified approach, with concerted efforts to dismantle barriers and create pathways for women’s success.
