The first ever conference organized by the Bonny Women Forum has been described as the onset of progressive development and expanded opportunities for the women of Bonny Kingdom.

“Ever since, it has been an amalgamation of both sweet and challenging experiences which summarizes our resilience, strength and productivity. “To say there had been no challenges in these four years of our administration would be a barefaced lie, but in all, God’s mercies have been our shield. His Majesty, the King has also been crucial to the solution of many of our challenges as he we run to him whenever it gets tough with his doors always widely opened, showering us with unassailable wisdom and support.”
The keynote speaker, Christie Bature-Ogbeifun dwelling on the theme of the programme; “Winning Ways”, deconstructed patriarchal social templates that deny women a say in decisions that affect them, asserting that such paradigms need to be discarded.
Bature-Ogbeifun, who is also the Managing Director of 180 Degrees Rehabilitation Centre, drawing from personal experiences posited that compassion and intentionality can change the story for addicts of drug abuse and alcoholism, stressing that in a world where impulsive behaviour is becoming the norm, it is imperative that people have ‘thinking time’.
