The Senior Pastor of Immanuel Heritage Ministries International based in Port Harcourt, David Tamunoala Immanuel says his interest was the unity and progress of Jumbo Major House of Grand Bonny Kingdom in Rivers State and not jostling for the chieftaincy stool of the house.
Immanuel said this in a chat with Kristina Reports on Friday, April 5, 2019 in Bonny Island, headquarters of Bonny Local Government Area.
In his words: I am not aware if there is any race yet, neither have I seen the track. My desire now is to first midwife peace by uniting the House”.
“When that is achieved, then the issue of producing a Chief can take centre stage and, of course, that is the duty and function of the Chief makers. Any attempt to produce a factional Chief will still put the House in chaos”.
He debunked insinuations that some of the initiatives he introduced which have helped to galvanize the elders of the house were geared towards preparing the ground for his smooth ascension to the stool of the house.
“I am shocked to hear of such insinuations. I have served our people for the joy of rendering quality people-oriented service for the good of our people. I have always considered it a privilege to render selfless service wherever I find myself. My brother, disregard those insinuations and let’s join hands and advance the collective interest of our people”.
He hailed efforts to complete the construction of the Jumbo Major House community townhall which has been abandoned for years, disclosing that the elders of the house were spearheading the project.
“The Opuwari (community townhall) project is being spearheaded by our people who through the years have lived with the shame and embarrassment of not having a visible Opuwari in Bonny Kingdom, despite our socio-economic and political significance in Bonny Kingdom”.
“While it is my delight to see that project completed and delivered to our people, I must say it is people-driven and being executed by the Elders of JMH. I believe posterity will review our today and give accolades to the noble effort”.
