Thrown into a state of agony and despair and an helpless state of not knowing what to do and waiting to welcome their loved ones, families of the abducted four remain uncertain yet hopeful for a miracle.

Kristina Reports reached out to the affected families whose loved ones were taken away by gunmen on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Finiapiri-Ama (Ama-Uda), Banigo Isile-Ogono after a carnival of gunshots.

In a chat with Kristina Reports, Miss Jane Hart, daughter of one of the abductees, Warisenibo Daniel Dagogo Robert Hart, disclosed how they got to know their father had been taken away.

“Yesterday, my dad went for a burial but I really did not know the exact place he was going to because he did not disclose his outing location to us. So by 3 to 4 O’clock in the evening, my mum came back and told me that there was a shootout at Banigo and they kidnapped some people. That was when we started calling my daddy.”

“We didn’t know that he was there so we called, we tried a lot of times his line was switched off. Then after the whole calling, my mum had to go out and make enquiries if anybody saw him. Then one of our relatives called and said that he saw him there, then we kept calling anyway, we just kept calling. My mum went out and she came back by 8 or to 9 O’clock in the evening.”

“Then, when she came back that was when she told me that someone saw the whole thing that happened, somebody saw when the bad boys were taking my dad and three other men. But they couldn’t really recognize, they don’t really know my dad but they know the three other men very well, so when the person described what the fourth man was putting on it was exactly what my dad wore. So that was how we knew that he has been taking by the hoodlums.”

While they wait to hear from the security agencies, families have also made efforts to get back their loved ones. According to her;

“The only effort we’ve made is my mum, my sister and my cousin went to the police station the next morning when she came back from church to make a complaint there”.

“At this point I just want whoever is in charge that has the authority or power to do what they have to do to get the men released because I really want my dad to come back home.”

“He is not even a politician, he’s not rich, he doesn’t have any connection to politics or whatsoever that they will pick him as supposed person or an alleged person that they wanted to take. I don’t know why.”

“They should just release all of them. They should release them I need my dad back home, we all need him back home.”

All fingers have been kept crossed awaiting positive outcomes from the ongoing investigations to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident and the return of the four abducted persons.
