Group Condemns Attack On Rivers State IPAC Chairman, Says Eleme Security Architecture Compromised

Following the recent attack on the residence of the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State, Solsuema Osaro, a group, Jonathan Olaka Movement has condemned the attack describing it as an assassination attempt on his life.

Leader of the group, Fred Onungwe issued this condemnation on Thursday, August 8, 2024 via a press release made available to Kristina Reports at Nchia in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Onungwe who stated that the attack was a fallout of the compromise on the security architecture in Eleme local government area noted that it was a wake-up call for the Caretaker committee chairman of Eleme LGA and the security agencies to put up proactive security measures in the area,

“This is a wake-up call to the Chairman of Eleme LGA and security agencies to rise to the occasion of putting up a proactive security measure in Eleme land… Eleme is not too big to have security challenges as seen currently….”

Whilst calling on the security agencies to bring perpetrators of the attack to book, the group called for caution among residents of Eleme urging them to eschew acts capable of truncating the peace in the area.

He urged them to join hands with Governor Siminalayi Fubara to provide meaningful development in the area,

“We call on security agencies to investigate the perpetrators of the assassination attempt on the IPAC chairman and bring them to justice…”

“We call on all well meaning citizens of Eleme land to be their brothers keeper by avoiding acts capable of truncating the peace we’re enjoying.

“We have to join hands with the governor of Rivers State to provide meaningful development to Eleme and Rivers State in general…”
