The Chairman of the Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC), Aladiokuma Hart says the saga of employment racketeering was over at the centre since his assumption of office.
He stated this yesterday, Wednesday, October 24, 2018, during a joint meeting of the Bonny Chiefs’ Council (BCC), Pivot-GIS, Daewoo, security agencies, and the monitoring team.
Hart, while making his presentation, lamented the rate at which malicious propaganda was orchestrated and targeted towards smearing his reputation and that of his administration.
“Employment racketeering is history since the inception of this administration. Since we took over office, we have never collected money from anyone in exchange for an employment opportunity and we will not start now. This administration has maintained the house sharing system as shown by our records and we shall continue in that light”, he added.
“It is glaring that this administration has witnessed very low rate of employment which is occasioned by the absence of construction companies but the little that has been coming, we have shown prudence in ensuring it gets to our people through the houses”.
He prayed “our youths to be patient with his administration as jobs are coming and that everyone will be properly engaged”, while advising them to “desist from peddling false, unconfirmed and unsubstantiated information which was capable of truncating the priceless peace we all enjoy today in the Kingdom”.
“The BIRC has been subjected to much fake news lately. It is sad that at a time when we need unity and strategy, to prepare us on what is to come, some people prefer to sow seeds of discord by spreading unsubstantiated news.”
“Considering our current political climate, we indulge every well meaning Ibani sons and daughters to always sort, analyze and verify information before passing it on. We should not allow ourselves to be agents of fake news, as employment matters are very sensitive, and should not be politicized as done by APC Bonny Chapter which is responsible for the pandemonium witnessed yesterday at the Palace gate and we hope that the APC Bonny have learnt from the incident”.
