Direct Interface With The People, Your Major Selling Point – BGF Tells Rivers Assembly member

Bonny Graduates Forum (BGF) says the member representing Bonny constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple has endeared himself to his constituents by making himself accessible and directly interfacing with them at every opportunity. 
It further added that this was beyond being a strong voice championing the interest of Rivers people and particularly, Bonny Local Government Area in the state assembly and every other fora. 
Chairman of BGF, Engr. Awoiyeala Allison said this on Sunday, September 9, 2018 when he led members of the BGF Convention Planning Committee on a visit to the lawmaker in Bonny Island. 
Engr. Allision stated that, though the forum was apolitical being the umbrella body of all graduates of Bonny origin, it was delighted with Hon. Pepple’s performance, so far. 
He praised his initiative in conceptualizing and constructing the Bonny Fire Station, the first of its kind in any local government headquarters in Nigeria, pointing out that the project when fully operational would have direct and indirect positive impact on the lives of the people.  
He solicited the partnership of the House of Assembly member in repositioning the BGF, disclosing that the vision of the current leadership was to enhance the capacity of Bonny graduates and expand the spectrum of opportunities in career pursuits and entrepreneurship. 
He also appealed for support for the forthcoming BGF National Convention billed for December 2018, noting that this maiden edition aims at celebrating Bonny’s best and also sensitize the graduates on multifarious opportunities for investment and career development. 
Making a presentation to the lawmaker on the planned National Convention, Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee, Mr. Godswill Hart disclosed that the convention was slated for first week of December 2018. 
Hart explained that the convention, which theme is “Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Education, and Development”, would see awards being conferred on worthy sons and daughters of Bonny Kingdom who have creditably served the community and interest of Bonny graduates, and also have a symposium on entrepreneurship. 
Responding, Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, who is also Chairman of the Assembly Committee on Power, thanked the BGF leadership for its accolades on him, saying it non-partisan assessment of his performance would spur him to do more for his constituents. 
He explained that though he was passionate about serving his people but, contrary to insinuations, he was not desperate for political office. 
He predicated desperation among politicians on the fact that such have nothing to offer to the populace in terms of capacity to provide creative leadership and effective representation. 
He called on the Bonny Graduates Forum to lead the vanguard against political brigandage, electoral malfeasance, and violence, pointing out that Bonny Kingdom was a homogenous community of interrelated families and any attempt to introduce violence would not augur well for all. 
While pledging his full support to the BGF, the lawmaker urged the forum to spearhead a sensitization campaign against violence and other social vices which inimical to harmonious co-existence.
