A Professor of Benthic Ecology and Chair of the C. B. Powell’s Chair of Hydrobiology and Fisheries at the University of Port Harcourt, Choba, Rivers State, Professor Aduabobo Ibitoru Hart has advised youths, especially, students that to achieve success in life they have to be disciplined, eschew good morals and be focused on their life’s pursuits.
Prof Hart gave this advice when a delegation of the National Union of Bonny Students (NUBS) paid her a Courtesy/Familiarization visit in her office in the university on Wednesday, August 28, 2019.
Professor Hart, who was a former Associate Dean of the Faculty of Biological Science, University of Port Harcourt, and Senior Research Adviser to Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria, enjoined members of the union to be studious, proficient in what they do, and ensure they strive to finish their education.
Asserting that the students, if determined, cannot be stopped by anything, stated that “you are people that can never be looked down on,” urged the leadership of NUBS to embark on projects that will add value to lives of the youths.
The university don, who was formerly a Consultant to Federal Ministry of Environment and mentor for African Women in Agricultural Research and Development, counselled members of the union to build a good, cordial and working relationship with lecturers at their respective institutions of learning, especially, those of them from Bonny Kingdom.
Earlier, the National President of NUBS, Andrew Wilcox had informed Professor Ibitoru Hart that the purpose of the visit was for the union to familiarise itself with her, seek parental guidance and discuss salient issues affecting of Bonny origin.
