Tamvina International School (TIS) has awarded its 2022 Annual Spelling Bee Competition winner, Gem Charis Kingsley Pepple, who has won the competition second time in a row, a tuition free second term for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The TIS Annual Spelling Bee Competition, which held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the school premises, had 40 spellers (pupils) drawn from Early Years 2 to Grade 3, respectively, take turns in spelling words called out for them by judges and earn points for the right answers.
The back-to-back winner, Gem Charis Kingsley Pepple, a Grade 3 Peridot (pupil), worn the maiden edition of the TIS Spelling Bee Competition in December, 2021.
She was trailed by the first and second runners-up, Gem Derek Daniel Dominic of Grade 3 Peridot, as second Best, and Gem David Reginald Green of Grade 3 Peridot, as third Best.
In her remarks at the event, Lead Coordinator of Tamvina International School, Adata Bristol congratulated the winners and assured them of her willingness to support “all gems to any level”, encouraging them to aspire to higher pursuits in their academics, stressing that the future is bright for them.
She said to further encourage the gems the management of the school has decided that the winner of the competition will have 100% discount of the tuition fee, 2nd Best 50% off the tuition fee and 3rd Best having 30% off the tuition fee for the second term beginning from January 2022.
Bristol further informed that all the winners and runners-up in the just concluded Rotary Club of Bonny Island Spelling Bee Competition will be representing the school at the forthcoming SPELL AFRICA Spelling Bee Competition 2023, adding that she is “super proud of the gems”, thanking the various teachers and parents who had taken time to prepare the gems for the stage.
The Chancellor, Iyeowuna Pepple, Deputy Chancellor, Franca Jumbo, and Assistant Secretary, Boma Banigo, of Tamvina International School’s Parents/Teachers Club (PTC) presented the medals and prizes to the winner, first runner-up and third runner-up, respectively.
