As the clamour for churches to be more socially responsible gathers momentum, the Senior Pastor of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie has donated a N100 million to the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt for the construction of hostels.
The donation, which was an upfront tranche of N300 million budgeted for the entire project, was made to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Ozomekuri Ndimele.
This gesture by Salvation Ministries comes as a breath of fresh air given that Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, like other tertiary institutions in the state, have been facing funding challenges.
These have impaired their capacity in driving critical projects such infrastructure, academic programmes, accreditation, and training for its staff.
Pastor David Ibiyeomie, an Okrika born clergy in the State, is also the presiding minister of Salvation Ministries that has, through its various social intervention programmes, impacted millions of lives in Rivers State, where its headquarters is located and beyond.
Several people have being pouring encomiums on Pastor David Ibiyeomie and his church for the kind and noble gesture while calling on other religious organizations to emulate the act in order to create more impact in the society.
