One operative of the Special anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has been killed and several others injured as yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked SARS office in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State in the early hours of October 1, 2020.
Sources disclosed to Kristina Reports that the chased the SARS operatives to their office in Obigbo where they opened fire on them and burned their vehicles leaving one of them dead.
Eyewitnesses say the attack was bloody as the sound of the hail of bullets sent residents of the area scampering in different directions for fear of their lives.
The injured operatives were said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical facility in Port Harcourt.
Efforts by Kristina Reports to reach the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the State Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP) Nnamdi Omoni proved abortive as he did not take his calls or replied messages to his mobile line.
Kristina Reports reliably learnt that the attacked station was a new facility set up for SARS for their operations in that axis of the State recently.
