The Chief Executive Officer of Three-Dimensional Media (3D Multimedia), Emmanuel Hart has confirmed that he was arrested by the Police but clarified that it was based on trumped up charges.

Hart, who came out with this in a post on 3D Multimedia Facebook page on Sunday, February 20, 2022, also confirmed that he was sacked by the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, disclosing that he had also returned the properties of the Polytechnic for which he was arrested, informing that he handed them over to the Police in Bonny.

The 3D Multimedia CEO said the acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Mrs. Ibifiri Pollyn, the Governing Council and a staff of the Polytechnic named Harriet stormed his house in Bonny at 1am and vandalized his residence, beat him and his family to stupor, arrested and took him to the Bonny Police Station.

“Mrs. Ibifiri Pollyn, the Governing Council and harriet they came to my house by 1am, broke my door, inflicted wounds on me and my children and arrested me. Took me to the police station.”

“Of course, in the morning when I asked them what was my offence, none of them, including the police people who even brought me could even tell me my offence until when I inquired from the DPO. The DPO now informed me that the school wrote against me – the Polytechnic – that I defamed the character of the acting Rector.”

“It is on record that on the 25th of November I was hospitalized at Pan-Oj Hospital. I was in the hospital when I heard that the school said they no longer need my services. I was just told to come and pick a letter that your services is no longer needed.”

Hart revealed that the equipment were still in his possession until Saturday, February 19, 2022, when he handed them over to the Police in Bonny, explaining that the said equipment remained in his possession for almost three months because he was not directed by the Polytechnic management to hand them over to anyone.

Contrary to his claim, however, Kristina Reports can authoritatively report that it is part of government regulation in Nigeria for officials of a Ministry, Department and Agency (MDA) to hand over government property in one’s possession upon being relieved of appointment or when resigning from a given position.

“Yesterday, when I was taken to the police station, that they now said that in addition to the defamation I also have in my possession the school equipment; that the Police should help me hand over to the Police. And that was exactly what was done. They’ve asked me officially to hand it over to the Police and exactly that was done. I handed it over, the receipts was there, everything about the item was there.”

But in swift reaction, acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Polytechnic, Gift Green debunked the allegation, saying none of the aforementioned persons were anywhere near his house, clarifying that it was not the duty of the officials mentioned to arrest people.

“How can the acting Rector, and the whole Governing Council members, who are not even in Bonny, go to his house in the midnight? Does it even make any sense? Is it the duty of these officials to go and arrest anyone? Why is he not saying it is the Police that arrested him?”

Kristina Reports had reported that Emmanuel Hart was arrested for illegal possession of equipment such as a high-definition camera and Hewlett Packard laptop belonging to the Polytechnic, for which funds were released to him to purchase.

The medium also reported that he was sacked for forgery of his age declaration and NYSC certificates as well as the illegal possession of the said Media equipment.
