A pupil of Tamvina International School, Bonny in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Divine Treasure Boma Hart, has once again proven her brilliance by emerging as the champion of the prestigious Smart Brain Spelling Championship 2024.
The competition, which was held at the Rivers State University, Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Port Harcourt, saw over 300 pupils from different schools across the State vying for the top prize.
In her victory speech, Divine Treasure Boma Hart, fondly referred to as the “Gem” dedicated her triumph to God Almighty and extended gratitude to key figures who have supported her journey.
She thanked the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for fostering peaceful coexistence in the state, which she credited for enabling meaningful events like the championship.
She also appreciated her mentor and supporter, the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Anengi Claude-Wilcox for prioritizing education and inspiring her with an award that motivated her to aim higher.
The final stage of the championship took place on Saturday, November 16, 2024, where Tamvina International School showcased exceptional talent, with four students qualifying for the finals.
In addition to Divine Hart clinching the first position in the upper primary category, her schoolmate, Charis Pepple secured the fifth position, solidifying the school’s reputation for academic excellence.
The victory adds to Hart’s impressive record of achievements.
She previously placed in the top 10 at the National Spelling Bee Competition held at Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, and secured 3rd place at the 2023 Garden City Spelling Championship.
She also emerged 2nd in the African International Spelling Championship and won the Rotary Spelling Championship in Bonny Local Government Area, among other accolades.
Recognizing her remarkable accomplishments, the Bonny LGA Chairman, Anengi Claude-Wilcox awarded Miss Hart the Award of Excellence during the 3rd Edition of the Children’s Day Celebration in Bonny LGA.
The community celebrates Hart’s outstanding achievements and calls on well-meaning individuals, government bodies, and multinational organizations to provide scholarships and other forms of support to encourage her and other hardworking students to reach greater heights.
