BIRC Chairman Resolves Bonny Kingdom, Morpol Engineering Misunderstanding, Mainstreams Peace Building

The proactive intervention of the Chairman of Bonny Integrated Recruitment Centre (BIRC), Adawari Jumbo, averted an internecine clash at the Bonny 48” Offshore Loading Line at Agaja in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, Kristina Reports has learnt.

Jumbo’s first outing as BIRC Chairman on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 days after inauguration of the new BIRC Management instantly became an opportunity for brokering peace between brothers, Finima Community and Jumbo House.

Kristina Reports learnt that youths from Finima Community and Jumbo Chieftaincy House almost engaged in fisticuffs at the project site being operated by Morpol Engineering Services Limited.

Jumbo told Kristina Reports over the telephone that he promptly rushed to the Offshore Loading Line after receiving a call alerting him of a fracas between youths of Finima Community and Jumbo House at the project site.

In a bid to avert a breakdown of law and order and a disruption of the operations there, he promptly shut down the site and directed all parties to meet with him at the BIRC office where discussions led to the resolution of the disagreements.

A statement later by the Public Relations Officer of the BIRC, Godswill Hart disclosed that an understanding was reached between the BIRC and Morpol Engineering Services Limited that the seven chances for operators and truck drivers will be shared 50/50 between Bonny Kingdom and the company, same as other semi-skilled positions.

The statement said it was also agreed that 100% of truck and crane men mate positions will go to Bonny Kingdom, as well as Site Nurse and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) officer positions.

Speaking after the deliberations, the BIRC Chairman declared that no company operating in Bonny LGA will be allowed to extract benefits without giving back to the community, warning that any firm attempting to short change, cut corners or evade fair practice will not be tolerated.

He also advised the youths not to take laws into their hands, enjoining them to channel all complaints to the Public Relations Officer of the BIRC, Godswill Hart, while thanking all relevant stakeholders for their input in resolving an almost turbulent situation.

On his part, the Social Performance Officer of Morpol Engineering Services Limited, Allen commended the BIRC Chairman and his team, as well as the Monitoring Committee for their proactiveness in ensuring no downtime was experienced due to an avoidable situation.

He pledged the commitment of his company to a seamless relationship with its hosts, reiterating his company’s predisposition to global best practices in managing host community interest, assuring the people of Bonny Kingdom that his firm will continue to be a good corporate citizen while operating there.

According to a document sighted by Kristina Reports, which is dated Saturday, November 11, 1972, the land wherein lies the Bonny 48” Offshore Loading Line, whereon Morpol Engineering Services Limited is working, is jointly owned by the Brown and Jumbo Chieftaincy Houses of Bonny Kingdom.

The BIRC Chairman sued for peace between the two families, assuring that his management team will mainstream inclusivity in its approach to managing industrial relations and operational issues involving companies and their hosts, Bonny Kingdom.
