Benjamin Kalu Questions Otti’s projects

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for Bende Local Government federal constituency, Benjamin Kalu, has raised concerns over Governor Alex Otti’s projects in Abia State.

He raised alarming questions and concerns during his rally in Ariaria, Aba on Saturday, October 4, 2025, which was aimed at endorsing the All Progressive Congress party for the governorship position come 2027 general elections.

Benjamin Kalu said the current administration should not boast for “low level projects” rather, should aim at competing with federal level projects and its standards.

“You can’t be getting the kind of money you’re getting now and still be doing the kind of job former governors did with far less. Where is the difference? Where are the mega-projects that match this federal lifeline?’

During the rally, the deputy speaker in his words of “enlightenment” said without the presidency and the decisions taken at the federal level, the current state governor cannot achieve a quota of what he is achieving today.

He owned the governor’s achievements so far to the allocations he gets from the federal level, the removal of fuel subsidy which has been utilized properly and other policies that have influenced the “little projects” we see today in Abia.

“Those that are saying the works done are miracles should come out to light. There is no miracle or any superpower here. Everything done is based on what the president permits. Fuel subsidy was removed and the money was used effectively. We should thank the president for loving Abia and giving Abia the chance to grow”

While concluding his speech, Benjamin Kalu declared APC takeover in the state in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

“The time has come for Abia to join the winning side—the side that’s delivering real change from the center. We are going to take over Abia in 2027; we want to work hand-in-hand with President Tinubu to propel our state forward.”

While we are gearing up for the general elections, several opposition parties especially the PDP and APC have began to gather strength to knock out Labour Party in the state and bounce back to power.

It can be recalled that the current administration of the Labour Party is the second party that has ruled Abia in the past 26 years.
