Police Arrest Woman Over Alleged Child Pornography, Rescue Four Minors

The Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, identified as Anulika Onyeanusia, over an alleged child pornography case in Onitsha, Anambra State.

The arrest followed an open-source intelligence received by the Command concerning a trending video allegedly showing a woman using sex toys on a minor.

The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the operation, conducted on Thursday, September 10, 2026, also led to the rescue of four children aged two, three, six and nine years. He added that sex toys and other items considered relevant to the investigation were recovered from the scene.

According to Ikenga, the suspect is currently in custody while investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and determine whether other persons were involved. The statement revealed that the husband of the suspect is also being interrogated by the Police to ascertain whether he has any connection with the alleged offence.

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Nnanna Oji-Ama, described the alleged act as unacceptable, particularly because it involves the exploitation and abuse of children. Ama directed a thorough and professional investigation and ordered that the rescued children be provided with appropriate care and protection.

The Police Command said it would work with relevant child-protection and support agencies to ensure that the children receive necessary care, counselling and other support. It further assured that the identities and privacy of the children would be protected throughout the investigation and prosecution process.

The Command also commended vigilante operatives, bloggers and residents whose information assisted the Police in uncovering the alleged abuse and arresting the suspect.
