Bonny Local Government Area is strategic to Nigeria’s socio-political, socio-economic  and socio-cultural development. It therefore requires sound, capable, and passionate advocates to advance her interest.
To this end, an aspirant to the Bonny constituency seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Dabota Godswill Jumbo has responded to overwhelming calls to rise to the occasion and represent her people.

She is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Incidentally, she was the first to pick the expression of interest and nomination forms from the party secretariat.

An accomplished banker, successful entrepreneur and philanthropist, Jumbo said she has the capacity, competence and passion to represent her people.
“Over the years, I have championed the cause of women, youths and less advantaged persons through my not-for-profit philanthropic projects”.

“I have always sought for platforms to enable me pursue policies that bring benefits especially to the poor and vulnerable persons,” she said.

“Over the years, I have lived and worked in my constituency, I have been in constant needs assessment and engagement with my constituents in Bonny”.
Consequently, she says that, being abreast with what the critical issues are, “I will pursue policies, bills and laws that will bring meaningful development to my people”.
The former member of the Caretaker Committee of Bonny LGA explained that her audacious quest for the House of Assembly seat underscores the emergence of women with demonstrated leadership capacity who were boldly taking the front seats in civic participation.
She regretted that “women are grossly underrepresented in our male dominated political arena and so one of my passion is to get more women interested in politics to increase the numbers”.
The frontline aspirant maintained that, in their roles as mothers, home managers and builders, women have natural endowments that enhances their capacity to take of their communities in an inclusive manner.
