Brymo Recalls Alleged 2Baba Confrontation, Sparks Online Reactions
Nigerian singer Brymo has sparked fresh conversations online after alleging that fellow music star 2Baba once confronted his former wife, Annie Idibia, over rumours linking her to him, while also admitting he had relationships with married women earlier in his career.
Brymo made the claims during an interview on the NotJustOk Podcast, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, where he reflected on some of the most controversial moments of his personal life and the lessons he said he learned from them.

Recounting what he described as an unforgettable encounter, Brymo alleged that the incident happened in 2019 at Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, when 2Baba directly questioned Annie in his presence.
“As at 2019, I remember that moment in Naomi’s office in Lekki Phase 1 when 2Face looked me square in the eye and asked Annie, ‘You don f*** Brymo?’ I will never forget it,” Brymo said.
Brymo did not provide evidence to support the allegation, and as of Friday, July 10, 2026, neither 2Baba nor Annie had publicly responded to or confirmed his account.
The singer also acknowledged that he had been romantically involved with several married women during the early years of his music career, explaining that many of them claimed they were separated from their husbands.
Reflecting on those experiences, Brymo advised younger musicians to avoid similar relationships.
“I met quite a number of older women who were truly married, but they would tell me they were separated from their husbands.”
“This goes to younger artistes, stop sleeping with people’s wives.”
“They will cut your life short,” he said.
He further narrated an incident involving one of the women, who invited him to perform at her younger sister’s wedding before asking him to entertain guests at her family home later that evening.
According to Brymo, he initially accepted the invitation until he discovered that the woman’s husband would also be present.
“She said, ‘Our baba will be there.”
“I thought she meant her father, but she said, ‘No, my husband.”
“As far as I was concerned, me going there was me offering myself for some form of crazy ritual.”
“I just couldn’t take it, so I had to bail out,” he recalled.
The interview quickly ignited widespread reactions across social media, with many users questioning the timing of Brymo’s revelation, while others debated the alleged confrontation involving 2Baba and Annie.
One user on X formerly twitter, @prankhottiee, wrote, “Something happened in 2019 and you’re bringing it up in 2026.”
“God forbid some of una.”
Another, @Naija_beautyhub, questioned the relevance of the revelation, asking, “Why do we need this info?”
Echoing similar sentiments, @Heispera sarcastically posted, “Wow this information changed my life.”
“I am now a better person,” while @officialmeri_madeinheaven commented, “People who are stuck in what happened in the past never grow.”
Some users accused Brymo of reviving old controversies to regain public attention.
@the_oluwaseyi wrote, “Brymo trying hard to revamp his career by controversy,” while @damilolaaaaaaaaa remarked, “Brymo and revamping dead grudges ehnnn! Kai.”
Similarly, @kolasharp commented, “People will just say and do anything to trend and be relevant… this happened in 2019, it’s seven years already… we don’t want to know,” as @just_gadgetsandautos added, “Once it’s their fav watch people cry, why would you bring it up in 2026 from 2019?”
Others argued that Brymo’s own admission of relationships with married women raised concerns.
@truththathurt_ wrote, “Why will you put yourself in a position when a man will need to ask his wife if he has slept with you? It means you don’t have boundaries with married women.”
“This comment speaks more about you than about 2Baba.”
Sharing a similar view, @bonetalkz said, “Very talented, but he allowed women including married women to overshadow his glory.”
“As a man, if you want to shine without letting anyone dim your light, stay committed to one partner and stop chasing every cat in a skirt.”
However, some users interpreted Brymo’s account differently, suggesting it reflected the challenges Annie allegedly faced in her marriage.
@Gudheart1 wrote, “Let’s talk about how disrespectful it is for 2Face asking Annie such question.”
“This Annie really saw insult from this 2Face guy.”
Likewise, @shirley_chioma_ezeanyim stated, “All he’s trying to tell us is how disrespectful 2Face was to Annie. She took a lot.”
Another commenter, @nehir.karabulut735, wrote, “For 2Face to ask Annie such question e be like Annie dey share cake,” while @eyinjueledumare_ observed, “Before a man will ask such audacious question… in the long run, nothing good comes out from sleeping with married women.”
Not everyone criticised the singer. @specklashed wrote, “Na why I like this guy, he sabi spill dirty things,” while @officialoddyj posted, “Bro, this is why I said we should never allow men speak.”
Others remained indifferent.
@miyaedge_interiors commented, “Some of you lack emotional intelligence on this app,” while @ribery_osha_ jokingly diverted attention from the discussion, writing, “Make one person close eyes do me 20k na.”
“I dey very very tight settings.”
Another user, @charlie_bespoke1, remarked, “Your lifestyle is totally different from the songs you write,” while @baronne_de_clairmont asked, “Did you do it or you didn’t do it? That’s the question.”
As of Friday, July 10, 2026, neither 2Baba nor Annie had publicly responded to Brymo’s allegations, leaving the singer’s account unverified.
The interview, however, continues to fuel debate online, with opinions divided between those who believe the revelations were unnecessary and those who see them as another chapter in the long-running public scrutiny surrounding the artists.
