Toyin Abraham Says Husband Supports Her Romantic Movie Roles
Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has said her husband has no issue with her kissing fellow actors in movies, stressing that their marriage is built on trust, understanding and respect for each other’s careers.
Speaking during an appearance on The Morayo Show, Abraham said her husband understands that romantic scenes are part of her profession and does not see them as a threat to their relationship.
“My husband doesn’t have a problem with me kissing other actors.”
“I don’t have a problem with him either.”
She added that she is comfortable acting alongside different colleagues when a script requires it.
“I can even kiss anybody.”
“Gabriel is my guy.”
Abraham explained that despite playing romantic roles on screen, she maintains clear boundaries between her acting career and her personal life.
“Most of my colleagues’ wives are comfortable with me.”
“I can do every other thing, but adultery is not even one of them.”
“God forbid it.”
“I don’t do it.”
The actress disclosed that there had only been one occasion when she questioned something she saw on her husband’s social media page, but said the incident did not affect the trust they share.
“There was just one day, I saw one post on his page, and I was like, hmm, nonsense… But no.”
Abraham also spoke about the Nigerian film industry, explaining why many producers traditionally choose the festive season to release movies.
“In December, everybody is at home.”
She, however, noted that recent cinema successes have shown that blockbuster films can perform strongly outside the Christmas period.
“But God just showed us how powerful He is.”
“I’m proud of Dami and Blessing.”
“It did over ₦700 million, and it’s not even the festive period.”
The actress maintained that trust remains the foundation of her marriage, saying both she and her husband understand the demands of the entertainment industry and respect each other’s professional responsibilities.
