Stanley Iheanacho scores again as Midtjylland beat Silkeborg in six-goal thriller
Nigerian forward Stanley Iheanacho maintained his outstanding pre-season form after finding the back of the net once again in FC Midtjylland’s 4-2 victory over Silkeborg on Saturday.
The youngster has now scored in three straight friendly matches, strengthening his case for a regular starting spot ahead of the new campaign.

The Danish outfit produced another impressive display during their pre-season preparations, with Iheanacho contributing the third goal in an entertaining contest played at Teglpark Stadion Hybridbane.
The 21-year-old has been in excellent form since returning to Midtjylland. He first netted the winner against Lillestrøm SK before scoring again in the 2-2 draw with Malmö.
His latest strike against Silkeborg means he has now scored in each of the club’s last three warm-up matches.
After leaving Midtjylland in 2024 to gain more first-team experience, the Nigerian attacker returned from Portuguese club CD Mafra and has wasted little time establishing himself in the starting eleven.
Midtjylland continue strong pre-season ahead of Europa League qualifiers
Midtjylland made a flying start to the encounter, opening the scoring after only three minutes through Mikel Gogorza.
The hosts doubled their advantage in the 16th minute when Darío Osorio finished clinically to give his side a comfortable lead before halftime.
Silkeborg responded eight minutes into the second half as Rami Al Hajj reduced the deficit to 2-1.
Midtjylland quickly regained control of the match, with Stanley Iheanacho restoring the two-goal cushion in the 64th minute after calmly converting his opportunity.
Sofus Beger gave Silkeborg renewed hope by making it 3-2 four minutes later, but Frederik Bunten sealed the victory in the 72nd minute with Midtjylland’s fourth goal of the afternoon.
The result extends Midtjylland’s impressive record against Silkeborg to eight matches without defeat, with seven victories and one draw during that run.
Midtjylland will round off their pre-season schedule against Cardiff City next weekend before beginning their UEFA Europa League qualifying campaign against Beşiktaş.
