UPDATE: Eze Ekpeye Logbo Commiserates With Family of Boat Mishap Victims
The Supreme Monarch of the Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality, His Imperial Majesty, Eze Sir Kelvin Ngozi Anugwo, PhD, JP, AP FNIM (Chartered), Eze Ekpeye Logbo III, Akalaka XII, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident involving two of his subjects.
In a statement issued on Monday, June 29, 2026, by the Ezee Ekpeye Logbo’s Palace, the revered Monarch said he received with profound grief the heartbreaking news of the deaths of Mekalachi Gogochuri and Rejoice Gogochuri.

The two siblings reportedly lost their lives in a boat mishap along the Aliya (Overhead Bridge) River on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Ahoada Town, in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The royal father extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Igbu Ehuda Kingdom over what he described as a painful and irreplaceable loss.
He also urged the people of Igbu Ehuda Kingdom to remain united during this difficult period, expressing confidence that God would heal every broken heart and grant the community the strength to overcome the tragedy.
