APC Disclaims Purported List of Screened Aspirants in Rivers

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed as false and unauthorised, a purported list of cleared and uncleared aspirants for the Rivers State House of Assembly currently circulating across media platforms.

In a statement issued on Monday May 11, 2026, by the Secretary of the Screening Committee for Rivers State, Tanko Yamowa, the party clarified that the publication did not emanate from any recognised authority within its structure and should be disregarded.

According to the statement, the screening exercise conducted by the committee, headed by Mauriana Ajibola, was concluded less than 24 hours ago, and no official list has been released.

The party emphasised that it adheres strictly to established procedures and timelines in releasing information related to screening outcomes, assuring stakeholders that any official communication would be made through appropriate channels.

It further urged party faithful, aspirants, supporters, and the general public to ignore the circulating list, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to create confusion and tension within the party.

Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, fairness, and due process, the party called for patience as it concludes all necessary processes.
