According to Agabe, preliminary investigations revealed that Sampson was lured into boarding a taxi by two male suspects who forced her to hand over two ATM cards belonging to her employer. The suspects subsequently withdrew a total of ₦4,607,199 from the victim’s bank account.

Acting swiftly on the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, operatives of the Choba Divisional Police Station launched a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of the suspects.

Those arrested include Praise Sampson, 20, from Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area; Michael Chijioke, 36, and Ndubuisi Jonah, both from Abia State; as well as Ehirim Ugonna, 38, and Okeke Chizoba Daniel, 40, both from Imo State.

Police said the suspects have been linked to a series of criminal activities and are believed to have been terrorising residents in parts of Port Harcourt.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant, avoid boarding suspicious vehicles, and refrain from sharing sensitive banking details such as ATM cards and PINs with anyone.

The Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and encouraged the public to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
