Ariana Grande Announced ‘Petal’ Album, Sets July 31 Release
Global pop star Ariana Grande has officially announced her eighth studio album Petal, marking her return to music after a period focused on acting.
The singer confirmed the project on April 28, 2026, revealing that the album will be released on July 31, 2026, under Republic Records.

The announcement was made via her official Instagram page, where she also shared the album’s cover artwork and creative direction.
Petal comes more than two years after her previous album Eternal Sunshine, which was released on March 8, 2024.
Grande described the meaning behind the new project in her own words.
“something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging.”
The statement reflects the album’s central themes of growth, resilience, and healing, indicating a deeply personal body of work.
The project is executive produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh, popularly known as ILYA, a longtime collaborator who has worked with Grande on several previous records.
Grande is also credited as a writer and producer on the album, continuing her hands-on role in shaping her sound.
The album’s black-and-white cover art shows the singer in a stripped-back look, without her signature ponytail, signaling a new visual and artistic era.
The announcement comes after months of subtle studio teasers shared earlier in April 2026, which had sparked speculation about a new music release.
As of the time of this report, no official lead single or tracklist has been released.
The album also arrives following Grande’s recent focus on acting, including her role as Glinda in the film adaptation of Wicked, which contributed to her temporary shift away from music.
In addition to the album, the singer is expected to embark on a major tour beginning in June 2026, her first large-scale tour since 2019.
She has, however, hinted that this phase of her career may mark a turning point.
Reports indicate that Grande suggested the upcoming era and tour could be her “last hurrah” for large-scale performances.
This development has fueled conversations about a possible shift toward more selective projects, including film and smaller musical releases.
Early indicators show strong fan anticipation, with pre-orders for Petal already available and special editions selling out shortly after release.
With its symbolic theme and carefully timed rollout, Petal is positioned as both a return and a potential transition point in Ariana Grande’s career.
