The newly elected Chairman of Bille Community in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Peters Obene has promised to concentrate his effort in addressing the concerns of his kinsmen.
Bille Community is in Degema Local Government Area of Rivers State but its indigenes are spread across the globe.

Obene was elected by those residing in Port Harcourt alongside Biama Herbert; Vice Chairman, Adokiye Akinda; Secretary, Phelim Carrie; Assistant Secretary, Ibiso Dei; Treasurer, Kenneth Kemuel; Public Relations Officer 1, Biobele Bregbo; Public Relations Officer 2, Alice Syer; Financial Secretary, and Ibroma Kemuel; Provost.
Addressing his kinsmen in Port Harcourt who elected him to lead them on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Obene made known the prospects of his leadership.
He acknowledged the support from community members, pledging to foster the spirit of oneness and total inclusivity in the community.
“I commit to fostering a spirit of collaboration and inclusivity, leveraging our collective strengths and resources to build a prosperous and harmonious Bille Community.”
The chairman added that he seeks to address challenges and seize every opportunity that promises a better future for the Bille Community, promising to take the position of a servant leader in ensuring collaboration to achieve shared objectives and aspirations.
“As we move forward, I pledge transparency, accountability, and integrity in all endeavours. Together, we will navigate challenges and seize opportunities for a brighter future for Bille Community.”
Bille is one of the ancient kingdoms in Rivers State which existence predates Nigeria itself and is located in the nation’s Niger Delta region.
