Some wards in okrika local government area of Rivers State have witnessed the absence of security personnels in their various polling units.

Checks by Kristina Reports shows that Ward 5 and their polling units are not secured by the police force, save vigilante groups.

Clement Eli, an agent who spoke to Kristina Reports said the elections have not started as electoral materials have not arrived yet.

“We haven’t started the elections. We don’t know why there are no security personnels, probably they would come much later but this pipeline polling unit is violence free.”

In another chat, Tamunosiki David said the elections are done in ward 2 and there are no security personnels.

“In ward 2, elections are over, all the materials have been retrieved and the officers have gone home. There has been no cases of violence.”
