The Inter-Party Advisory Council(IPAC) in Rivers State has strongly condemned the assassination attempt on its Chairman, Solsuema Osaro demanding immediate action from the authorities.

IPAC communicated this position in a press statement signed by its State publicity secretary, Hilda Dokubo, and made available to newsmen Thursday night in Port Harcourt,

” The Inter-Party Advisory Council(IPAC) strongly condemns the assassination attempt on our State Chairman, Sensei Solsuema Osaro which occurred on Tuesday, 6th August 2024 at 11:52 pm…we demand immediate action from the authorities….”

The statement noted that Osaro whilst functioning as IPAC Chairman in Rivers State, has been a strong advocate of peace and good democratic governance in Rivers State working tirelessly to ensure the success of the Siminalayi Fubara administration. This position, IPAC believes must have earned him some enemies,

” As the IPAC Chairman, he has always stood on the side of truth and justice, working tirelessly to ensure the success of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s Administration. His commitment to deepening democratic practices may have earned him many enemies, but we will not be silenced….”

IPAC demanded justice for its Chairman and family even as it called on the Rivers State commissioner of police to fish out perpetrators of the attack and bring them to book,

“We demand justice for our Chairman and his family. We will not rest until the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice….”

“We call on the Rivers State commissioner of police and other security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of this crime and bring them to book….”

IPAC urged well-meaning citizens to join in the condemnation of the attack urging political actors to eschew violence and embrace peaceful means of resolving conflicts.
