A member of the Caretaker Committee of Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State, Emmanuel Osarokio has commended the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for demonstrating inclusivity in his approach to governance, saying such posture has benefitted him.
Osarokio, who came out with this at the weekend in an exclusive interview with Kristina Reports in Eleme, Rivers State, thanked the Governor for appointing him into the Eleme LGA Caretaker Committee despite not being a member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Extoling Governor Fubara for his democratic governance effort exhibited in the inauguration of caretaker committees that are reflective of his peace loving disposition, Emmanuel Osarokio, who is Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Eleme LGA, described the Governor’s gesture as “a departure from what was obtainable in previous administrations”.
Reflecting on the postulation of the Tanzanian anti-colonial activist, Kambarage Julius Nyerere, “the privilege and honour to serve your community is to be done in a manner that benefits the people”, Osarokio noted that the inclusivity in the appointments across the 23 LGAs have shown that Governor Fubara is working for the benefit of all Rivers people irrespective political affiliation.
He stressed that this has re-enforced the resolve of members of other political parties to support his administration’s effort to provide good governance.
He also commended the State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State, Solsuema Osaro for nominating him for the appointment.
