Leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Khana Local Government Area have affirmed their unwavering support for the Governor Siminalayi Fubara led Administration in Rivers State, as well as the Solsuema Osaro led Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State.
This was contained in a press release on Monday, June 10, 2024 jointly signed by the SDP Khana LGA Leader, Constance Wifa, Chairman, Promise Dinee, and Chairman of all Ward Chairmen in the LGA, Godwin Akina, and made exclusively available to Kristina Reports in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
They stated that while the season for campaign is over, the party is committed to assisting the Fubara led administration in the provision of good governance.
“We have ex-rayed the activities of the present governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, and we’re in full support of his administration as he strives to provide dividends of democracy to all the people of Rivers State.
“Furthermore, we at the LGA chapter are in alignment with the decision of the state leadership of the inter-party advisory council (IPAC) headed by the state chairman of SDP Sensei Solsuema Osaro over the recognition of his Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of political parties in Rivers State….”
The leaders, who also acknowledged the right of association for all individuals, distanced the party from resolutions contained in a publication believed to be the outcome of a meeting called at the instance of some supporters of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Nyesom Wike wherein some persons claimed to be SDP members and pledged loyalty to the FCT Minister.
“We declare that the publication of that purported meeting and its outcome as not only illegal but dubious, erroneous and misleading. We condemn in its totality the use of the name of the Social Democratic party (SDP) in whatever guise….”
They disclosed that Constance Nwifa remains Leader of the SDP in Khana LGA, urging the public to disregard the activities of one Legborsi Nwidadah, who they said was parading himself as leader of the SDP in Khana LGA.
