A coalition of chairmen of registered political parties in Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State have expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of Solsuema Osaro, Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State.
Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Eleme LGA, Emmanuel Osarokio came out with this recently when he led a delegation of his counterparts from other political parties in the LGA on a congratulatory visit to the IPAC Chairman in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Congratulating Osaro on his emergence as IPAC Chairman in Rivers State, Osarokio noted that IPAC now has a secretariat, a media unit as well as administrative staff to cater for the needs of political parties.
Osarokio, who described these achievements as novel and a departure from the norm also hailed the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara’s cordial disposition towards opposition parties that has created an environment for democracy to thrive.
On his part, Chairman of the National Rescue Movement (NRM) in Eleme LGA, Olaka Olaka said members of the NRM now feel at home courtesy of the friendly relationship extended to IPAC by the Sim Fubara led administration in the State.
He recalled a time when members of opposition parties were described as enemies of the state and forced to retreat in fear during the previous administration.
He advised the IPAC Leadership to replicate their blueprint and structure at the local government level urging him to entrench social justice and equality at all fronts.
The coalition thanked Governor Fubara for the prompt delivery of the reconstructed Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo Road and all other projects executed and commissioned in commemoration of his one year in office.
Receiving the delegation, Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Rivers State, Solsuema Osaro described the visit of the party chairmen from Eleme LGA as historic in the annals of IPAC in Rivers State.
He assured them of synergy at all times between IPAC and leadership of political parties at the grassroots, while communicating IPAC’s intention to conduct elections in all local governments of the State and replicate the leadership structure at that level.
Solsuema Osaro, who doubles as the State Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers State, urged leaders of opposition parties to disregard any inducement to ridicule Governor Fubara, saying that the era of politicking is past and therefore necessary to synergies in this era of governance to achieve a greater Rivers State.
Political parties represented at the meeting include Zenith Labour Party, Social Democratic Party, National Rescue Movement, Labour Party, African Action Congress, Youth Party, Accord and New Nigeria Peoples Party NNPP.
