The people of Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State are set for a last chance engagement with the House of Assembly candidates for Bonny Constituency as they present their plans at the first ever Legislative Debate in the area.

The event tagged “Legislative Debate for Bonny Constituency”, which is billed to hold on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in Bonny, is being organized by Kristina Reports in conjunction with the Bonny Kingdom Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

ALL FOR THE DEBATE: Clockwise from top: Victor Oko-Jumbo, PDP, Amie Allison, ADC, Dabota Jumbo, APC, Lionel Pepple, Accord Party, Howells Brown, SDP, Tammy Abusi, Labour Party, and Maxwell Green, NRM.

In a statement on Friday, March 3, 2023, Team Lead for the Legislative Debate strategy team, Eliel Bluejack said that the debate is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) effort of Kristina Reports to entrench qualitative leadership which is an inevitable springboard for multilevel development.

“We think it has become necessary to provide the people an avenue for mind mining of the persons who want to represent them at the blue chambers; and this is being done at no cost to the candidates as we see this as a veritable opportunity to market themselves and plans to the people.”

“So, what we’re doing is to create the platform for this engagement to happen. We know they have been talking to diverse stakeholder groups but not the totality of Bonny people; so, this is about bringing them up close to the people they wish to represent.”

The Bonny Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, which comprises the 12 Wards that make up Bonny LGA, has been yearning for beneficial representation in the past years, with the people of the area expressing optimism that this dispensation would see a turn around of fortunes for them should a qualitative candidate emerge.
