The Obolo Youth Coalition (OYC), Bonny Branch says it has suspended its Coordinator, Gogo Glad, and Assistant Secretary, Theophilus Egbe for alleged fraud, intimidation of members and other sundry issues pending the outcome of investigations of the allegations against the duo.

Secretary of the OYC Bonny Branch, Parkinson Acra, who disclosed this to Kristina Reports on shortly after the group’s Congress meeting held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, held in Bonny, said the decision was part of resolutions arrived at the meeting where 31 members voted in favour of the suspension of the two officials while 11 voted against.

He further disclosed that majority of the members voted in favour of the suspension of the two officials, stressing that the decision became necessary after the duo failed to respond to the invitation by the group’s Legal Adviser and Chairman of its Disciplinary Committee, who is constitutionally empowered to investigate, resolve or punish erring members.

Efforts by Kristina Reports to reach Gogo Glad and Theophilus Egbe for the reaction was yet unsuccessful as at the time of this report as Mr. Glad’s mobile line was switched off while Mr. Egbe could not be reached via telephone.

Acra stated that the allegations leveled against the two officials for which they were invited to meet with the Legal Adviser/Chairman, Disciplinary Committee were: 1. Embezzlement and misappropriation of OYC Bonny Branch fund 2. Unilaterally removed executive’s member from the platform against the constitution 3. A case of forgery by forging the secretary’s signature. 4. Running a parallel executive; and 5. Disobedience to lawful order of the President.

He added that in clear violation of the OYC Constitution, the Coordinator opened and was operating a bank account without the knowledge of the organization, and even when the President of the OYC Worldwide, Ijonama Mkpon-Amon directed that the said bank account be closed, the Coordinator and Assistant Secretary went ahead utilizing for alleged fraudulent transactions.  

Kristina Reports reliably learnt that the State Coordinator of OYC, Rivers State, is billed to be in Bonny at the weekend to look into the issues with a view to resolving them.
