There may be some clue as to why the hierarchy of the Nigeria Police was after the Senate President, Bukola Saraki. These could be gleaned from the series of tweets by the senate president late Monday on why the police were desperate to apprehend him.
He alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the federal government were jittery over moves by majority of the National Assembly members to defect from the party to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This, he asserted was due to the failure of his recent meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, and national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, amongst others to reach an amicable resolution over the crisis rocking the party.
Kristina Reportsreliably learnt that Buhari and other key leaders of the APC met late night with a former governor of Kano State and leader of the Kwankwasiya Movement, Rabiu Kwankwaso inside Aso Rock behind closed doors to decide on how to create a counterpoise to Saraki’s moves should he decide to move over to the PDP to pursue his presidential ambition.
Below are some of the tweets from the senate president.

The Police have obviously corrupted and politicized their investigations into the Offa robbery incident. They have turned it into an instrument for the party in power to suppress perceived opponents.

I have been reliably informed that the police invitation was planned by the IG as a ploy to stop an alleged plan by some Senators and House of Representatives members from defecting from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Police in their haste to embarrass me sent the invitation to me at 8pm and requested that I report to the station by 8am tomorrow morning. This obviously demonstrated their desperation as I do not see why they are now in a hurry.
