The culture of a people remains their unique identity and is a transcendental legacy passed from generation to generation and as such needs to be cherished and preserved by the people. Youths being the touch-bearers and livewire of the community have a role to play in this regard.
This was the submission of the leader of the apex youth body and umbrella youth association of Bonny Kingdom in Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers State, the Bonny Youths Federation (BYF), Barr. Simeon Wilcox, when he visited the Alagbariya Cultural Group during a ceremony to mark the Fongu Mini festival 2018.
Wilcox, who was accompanied by the BYF directors of Culture, Jacob Jackmay, and Socials, Darlington Banigo, chairman of the BYF Cultural Committee, Stephen Banigo, and members of his committee, praised the culture of the Ibani nation as unique.
Earlier, the BYF Cultural Committee chairman, Stephen Banigo had while introducing the BYF leader to the group had outlined the essence of the festival which celebrates the autumnal break deep into the rainy season.
