The Finima Youth Congress (FYC) says investment in Education is a lifetime investment which advantages transcend the beneficiaries and impact the society at large.
Chairman of FYC, Shedrack Brown said this on Friday, May 10, 2024 in a telephone chat with Kristina Reports in Bonny, Rivers State.
He announced that 145 undergraduates indigent to Finima Community in Bonny LGA of Rivers State have benefited from the 2024 bursary paid by the FYC.
“Investment in Education is a lifetime investment, and the effect of it doesn’t just double up on the individual but as well as on the human environment.”
“The Central Executive Council (CEC) of the Finima Youth Congress (FYC) through its Education Committee has concluded the payment of the 2024 Finima Youth Congress bursary to Finima students in tertiary institutions with the value of N20,000 each student.”
He stated that the beneficiaries were excited as, according to them, “the gesture by the FYC had given them this sense of belonging, and gesture of encouragement”.
He further informed that the payment was divided into two batches which totaled 145 students as beneficiaries who have received their value for the 2024 Bursary.
Recall that the 2023 FYC Bursary had 99 beneficiaries cutting across the three families – Brown, Tobin and Attoni – in Finima.
He noted that the enthusiasm towards the gesture by the students underscored “a growing interest of our youths towards Education which is a good presage for Finima Community”.
“It is germane to note that the importance of education in modern day cannot be overstretched”.
The FYC Chairman stated that “the annual bursary programme has come to represent the deliberate effort by the Finima Youth Congress (FYC) to amplify the entrenchment of Educational pursuit amongst the youths of Finima”.
“It also serves as a determined attempt at mainstreaming human capital development as a veritable plank for positioning the youths for actualization of their futuristic aspirations and advancement of Finima Community development.”
