“I Met My Wife When She Was In Polytechnic, She Saw My Good Heart” — Hanks Anuku Opens Up On Marriage, Female Fans
Veteran Nollywood actor, Hanks Anuku, has recounted how he met and married his late wife while she was still a student at the polytechnic.
Anuku, who has been one of the most prominent faces in Nollywood since the early 2000s, disclosed this during a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch Podcast, where he spoke candidly about his love life, marriage and career.
According to the actor, he first met his wife while she was schooling at the polytechnic and living in Lagos at the time. He explained that after discovering she was a student, they struck a connection that later led to marriage.
He noted that despite being a popular actor with a lot of female admirers, his wife was not intimidated by his fame because she saw beyond the celebrity lifestyle and recognised his genuine character.
Anuku admitted, however, that she was initially skeptical about dating him due to the attention he received from women.
In his words: “I met my wife when she was in the polytechnic. She used to live in Lagos and all that, but I found out she was in the polytechnic, and I came back one day, I met her, and so we got married. She wasn’t all that scared because I have a good heart and I don’t play around, I’m not a playboy. But she was skeptical at first, this guy and all the girls, you know, but I mean it’s not my fault, is it?”
The actor stressed that he was never a playboy despite the public perception, adding that his wife came to understand and trust him because of his good heart and sincerity.
Hanks Anuku was married to his late wife for several years before her passing. The actor has largely kept his private life away from the public in recent years, but occasionally speaks about family and life after Nollywood stardom.
