As the avalanche of congratulations continue to cascade on the new Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Victor Oko-Jumbo, his kinsman and Managing Director of the State Signage and Advertising Agency (RISAA), Aye Pepple has added his voice.
Pepple, who represented Bonny Constituency, is a ranking member of the 6th and 7th Rivers State House of Assembly between 2007 and 2015.
He felicitated Oko-Jumbo on his emergence, expressing optimism that his stint as leader of the State Legislature would be strewn with excellent performance.
“I’m overwhelmed by the news of his emergence, it makes me happy to see my brother emerge as the next Speaker of the Assembly. I’m convinced he will perform excellently well.”
The Bonny-born lawmaker served as Chairman of the House of Assembly Committees on Environment and House Services, consecutively.
He noted that the emergence of Oko-Jumbo will serve to stabilize the polity and avail the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, the latitude he needs to deliver good governance to the people of the State.
He also congratulated the lawmakers representing Opobo/Nkoro and Ahoada-West Constituencies, Adolphus Oruibienimigha and Sokari Goodboy on their emergence as Deputy Speaker and Majority Leader, respectively.
The RISAA MD commended them for exuding the courage to elect their counterpart, Victor Oko-Jumbo as the authentic Speaker of the House, urging them to maintain the fortitude to hold the Assembly together against the onslaught on undemocratic forces.
Pepple is among some ranking members of the State House of Assembly who have spoken out in support of stabilizing the Assembly and preserving the sanctity of the Legislative Arm of Government in the State, so far.
